Moreaux de France, en rejse til Frankrig
Service Description
You're warmly invited to join Aulos Duo and pianist Stephen Whale for an auditory journey to France. We will perform fascinating music for flute, clarinet and piano by the masterful French composers Claude Debussy, Camille Saint-Saens, Francis Poulenc and Olivier Messiaen. Aulos Duo consists of Neus Signes Llinares (flute) and María Jiménez Pardo (clarinet). The program features a rarely performed trio arrangement of Debussy's seminal orchestral work Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune (Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun) and Saint-Saen's riveting Tarentella, based on a frenzied dance, whose purpose is to eradicate the poison from a tarantula spider's bite. It will also feature luminous music based on birdsong by Messiaen and charming duo sonatas by Poulenc, embracing both comedy and melancholic lyricism. We will perform two concerts, the first on Thursday 26th May at 15.00 at Aarhus Klaverakademi, Grønnegade 61b. Entry is free. The second concert will be On Saturday 28th May at 16.00 at Aarhus Katolske Kirke, Ryesgade 26, 8000. Entry is 100/50 kr (general/students etc.).
